How to draw a realistic eye
1. Firstly, sketch a horizontal oval with pointed edges at a slight slant (the end that is pointed slightly downwards will be the end nearest the nose). |
2. Draw a semi-circle (inside the oval with the curved part pointing downwards) that keeps on going until it reaches the top of the oval.
3. Draw a square about a millimetre (right) away from the centre of the oval |
4. Draw a reasonably small circle, directly in the centre of the oval that the square will interrupt (do not carry on the circle into the square). |
5. Colour in the circle black, making sure to keep the square white.
6. Draw thin lines from the centre outwards, that fade away before they reach the edge of the semi-circle
7. Lightly, draw small curved lines on the top eye lid, and smaller, straighter ones on the bottom eye lid for eye lashes. |
8. On top of the eye, draw a long, flat triangle with out a bottom and the point away from the end nearest the nose, and repeat that under the first one and then join them up (for the eye brow). |
9. Then, draw diagonal lines in side the eye brow to represent the hair that makes up the eye brow. |
10. (optional) Colour in the iris any colour you would like (preferably blue, green or brown/hazel).
11. (optional) Colour in the eye brow. |
12. Finally, (just to add the finishing touch) at the end of the oval, at the end that is nearest the nose; draw a small circle and colour it in red. |
13. Show your artwork off to your friends and family! |
